A busy week in Room 6

We have been soooo busy this week with lots of learning and fun activities. We started the week with a syndicate tug of war to try out our new rope. Then on Friday we went to the Suter to work with Esther on the Bing Dawe exhibition and we can't wait till the clay birds are fired so we can paint them. To end our week we celebrated Library week with a dress up day in your favourite book character, whew!! have a great rest Room 6 next week will be just as busy!!!!

Room 6 Top 6 Most Important Children's Rights

During our Inquiry Learning discussion on Children's Rights we talked about what we thought we the top 6 most important rights. We were able to decide the top 4 but the last 2 were difficult as there was a spread of opinion. In the end we had a secret class ballot and here are the results.This was part of our Setting the Scene using the SAUCE inquiry model.

1. Clean water
2. Clean air
3. Decent shelter
4. Medical care
5. Nutrious food
6. Practise culture, religion and language

In room 6 we are learning about Children's Rights. Here we are sorting out things we need and things we want.

Welcome Frankinstein and Bubbles!!!!


We have 2 new room 6 class members. The bronze one is Frankinstein and the spotty one is Bubbles. We had a class nomination and votes for the names.

Maths in Room 6





We are learning to draw graphs in room 6. We had to choose which question we were going to ask. Here we are collecting our data. We made a tally chart first and then asked each other questions about favourite things. We will be using our data to draw block graphs.
