The Gladwrap Challenge

Last week we collected gladwrap again to see if the children of Nelson Central could reduced the amount of gladwrap they used in their packed lunches and here is the end result!
Well done to everyone who made a difference. Remember to keep up the good work!
Why not try a package free lunch next, buy large packs of things and decant them into smaller reusable boxes rather than having individually wrapped items.

Movement and Dance at the Suter

Wow! What a great session we had at the Suter today. We had a fantastic time moving to music and making up our own dances to show the movement in the paintings and installations.
Thanks to all the parent, auntie, uncle and grandma helpers who came along today. Your help was really appreciated and the children loved having you there. Here are just a few photos of the session, I will put more up as a photo album later.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

This week we are collecting gladwrap from our packed lunches to encourage others to reduce the amount of plastic we use. Plastic takes a long time to decompose, polystyrene NEVER rots! We want people to use paper as it can be easily composted and then used in the garden to help our fruit and veggies grow!

Eye Spy Suter Visit

We had a great session today at the Suter visiting the Eye Spy exhibition. The children really enjoyed looking in detail at the paintings and sculptures. This has inspired us to create our own, so watch this space!
The Cockerel drawing was donated to the Suter by Josephine's great grandma, thanks for sharing such a treasure with us all.

Our aim was to see how much Gladwrap we used and to reduce the amount by week 4. We are trying to reduce our waste as part of Sharing Our Planet. We'll let you know how we did next week

Kiwi Fejoa

When my mum went to collect fejoas from the ground, she found a kiwi shaped fejoa. Maybe you have some Kiwi shaped fejoas too in your garden!
